More details

Massachusetts law (M.G.L. c.19A s.43) requires LGBTQ+ cultural competency training at every provider funded by the state's elder affairs office, including assisted living.

You are entitled to ask a residence whether its staff have completed this training, and how recently. The state has cited residences for failing to do it.

For older adults
Staff at providers funded or certified by the state elder affairs office, and MassHealth long-term-care staff, must finish the training within 12 months of starting work.
