Our independence policy

The directory is paid for by a real estate practice. These are the rules that keep that from ever touching what you see in it.

1. Listing is decided by what a provider does, not who they know. Any legitimate provider serving older people on Cape Cod can be listed free. Nobody is left out because they compete with a friend of ours, or put in because they are one.
2. Order is never influenced by a relationship. Within a category, order is set by Google rating weighted by the number of reviews behind it. Nothing else moves a listing up or down.
3. No badges of favour. There are no “recommended”, “partner” or “featured” labels on any listing, and there never will be.
4. No money, either way. No listing fee, no referral fee, no commission, no advertising, no sponsored content from any listed business.
5. The sponsor stays out of the listings. No real estate agent is listed, including us. The sponsor’s own offer appears only in clearly marked boxes on a few pages, and on its own page.
6. When our practice recommends someone to its own clients, we give at least three names from this directory and say which ones we have worked with. That recommendation is ours, made as a real estate practice; it is never shown in the directory.
7. Corrections are public. When we get something wrong, we fix it and log it on our editorial standards page.
