The Lower Cape Transition Options Review
From the sponsor of this directory. When a move, a diagnosis or a care bill puts the house in question, most families only ever hear one option: sell. This is one free hour to see all of them, side by side, in writing.
This page is from The Celebrate Team, the real estate practice that pays for the directory. It is separate from the listings. Using it is never required, and the directory works the same whether you do or not.
What happens
- One hour at the house, or by video, with family joining from wherever they live.
- Your options, side by side: sell now; move first and sell after; rent the house; keep it and adapt it; and, where it fits, borrowing against it. Each with a rough figure for what it would leave and how long it would take.
- The house set against the care. What the house would realistically leave after a sale, and how many months or years of the care you are considering it would pay for.
- The Cape questions national agents miss: septic inspection and the family-transfer exemption, the seasonal market, and the cost of carrying an empty house through a winter.
- A written options sheet left with you, to share with the family and with your lawyer.
What it is not
- It is not a listing appointment. Nothing gets signed.
- It is not legal, tax or benefits advice. Where a decision touches MassHealth, taxes or a will, we will tell you to see an elder-law attorney first — and the directory lists them.
- “Not this year” is a perfectly good outcome.
